It should be able to handle it no problem. As long as your editor is 
UTF8 I believe. Are you doing it manually or through the Transifex 
website? You'll probably find it easier to do it through the Transifex 
website as it keeps track of what needs to be translated, and assists 
with multiple people working on translations.
I've added a Croatian translation to the project page 
(https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/grase/language/hr/) so if you 
login to the website and give me your username, I'll add you to the 
Croatian team!
