Raw message

Today replaced one of the 100Mbit network cards (wan) with a 1Gbit card, in order to make better use of a samba server on the grase server.

eth0 is 100Mbit, and is the wireless interface (Connected to 4 linksys boxes)
eth1 is now 1Gbit, and is the internal network and the route to the internett. (it was 100Mbit up untill today)

However after replacing it things didn't work quite as expected.
http traffic works like a charm, however httpS does not work at all. If we open a browser on the grase server itself (we also use it as a desktop), httpS works.
We have tried rebooting the server and teh wireless client laptops. Nothing helps

We then tried switching the cables, changed /etc/network/interfaces accordingly, rebooted, and everything works ...

Does anyone have an explanation as to what may trigger this weird behaviour?
As it is now, the wifi interface have a 1Gbit network card and the wan card have 100Mbit card, whereas we wan't it the other way around, and that doesn't work, for some reason that we can't decipher.
