Hi Christopher

I've already made it clear off list to some people involved in these
discussions, that the primary focus at the moment is the core being updated
to PHP 7.2 so we can have a new release. I have said that donors can
prioritise what is worked on (my classic example is the reports, I probably
will cut the reports for the initial V4 release, so I can focus on the
other features), but that we aren't adding new features for the V4 release.
New features will come after the V4 is released and stable.

Your donations are most certainly going towards getting the core upgraded,
I don't have time to waste on new features.

Part of the advantage to the rewrite in Symfony, is that we get "hooks"
very easily. Its an events based system, where I can trigger events and
people can write plugins that listen to those events to extend it. I'll do
my best to add as many of these as I can as I go, where appropriate.

The MAC address binding feature is actually something that has to be added
as extra code, outside of the main GUI. When it is added it would most
certainly be a feature flag that can be turned on and off. There is already
an open feature request for this at
https://github.com/GraseHotspot/grase-www-portal/issues/148 which people
can go thumbs up if they feel it's a priority for once V4 is released.

Regards

Tim
