<div>To install phpmyadmin in either Ubuntu or debian:</div>

<div>You do both of those commands, so that you make sure that the repositories are up to date (the first command) and that you have the most up to date packages from the security repository, and the second command makes sure that your local system is upgraded.</div>

<div>sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin</div>
