So things have been a little quiet on this list regarding the V4 update.
Thanks to the wonderful support of a number of donors we are progressing
with V4 of the Grase Hotspot. We are still on track to have an Alpha/Beta
release out by the end of this month.

Some quick highlights of what has been done:

   - Login portal migrated to new Symfony 4 framework, rewritten JS to be
   more robust and support translations of all messages (including radius
   error messages).
   - Freeradius upgrade to V3 (and all the work required to get the
   integration of the whole system working again)
   - Coova Chilli upgrade to 1.5 (and all the work required to get the
   integration of the whole system working again)
   - Major backend changes, database changes to better support the system
   in the modern world (including better structure where possible, still
   limited by the radius schema)
   - The main Admin interface is being rewritten on the Symfony 4
   framework, using the Adminlte theme.

This is the short version of what has been done over the last 4 months. In
theory, you can check out the development work at
https://devdemo.grasehotspot.org (it's running nightly builds, so breaks
occasionally).
