yes, I will try that too this week and report.

I'm not too convinced on the WDS issue because I have a similar setup (no 
grase involved) and works without WDS.
I'm more souspicios about IP range on grase...

the reason is: why I cannot ping my first M5-ap from the grase box?
that antenna has a fixed IP (10.1.0.2, outside of the dhcp range but same 
subnet) it is connected at the same switch,
yet if I ssh on my grase box I can ping 10.1.0.1 (myself) and 10.1.0.10 
(first dhcp pool address) but never 10.1.0.2...

any explanation?? the M5 ethernet port should be reachable from the grase 
linux box(!)

but I will definetely enable WDS on the station....
